SRT QC
Check a subtitle file against its video: sync, spelling and grammar, and the technical rules broadcasters ask for. Then fix it on a timeline and export a clean SRT.
A free Flayr account is all you need. It keeps the spelling check fair for everyone.
What it checks
Sync check
Speech recognition in your browser finds where every line is spoken, then flags subtitles that come in early or late, a whole file that is out by a fixed offset, captions over silence and speech with no subtitle.
Spelling & grammar
Every line is proofread in British or American English, respecting subtitle style: names, colloquial speech and line breaks are left alone.
Technical checks
Broadcast rules you can tune: duration, reading speed, characters per line, line count, gaps, overlaps, order, numbering, encoding and stray tags.
Timeline editor
A filmstrip, waveform and subtitle track like an edit suite. Drag to retime, trim the edges, split, merge and snap to frames, with full undo.
Transcript
A word-by-word transcript beside the picture. Click any word to jump there; it follows the playhead as the video plays.
Export SRT
Download a clean, correctly numbered UTF-8 SRT with your fixes applied, ready for YouTube, broadcast deliverables or your NLE.
Private by design
Your video never leaves your computer — it plays and is analysed in your browser. Only the subtitle text is sent for the spelling and grammar check.
The first transcript downloads a speech recognition model (about 80 MB) from Hugging Face; your browser keeps it for next time.
